How SeeSomeone works
What SeeSomeone verifies
Verification here means one narrow thing. This page says what it is, and is just as specific about what it is not.
What is checked
When a professional applies or claims a listing, they give us their registration details. A person at SeeSomeone checks that the professional title they claim is one they are entitled to use in that province. Titles are regulated differently across Canada, so we apply the rules of the province in question and not a single national assumption.
A claim also asks for a work email at the practice. That shows a connection to the practice. It is not proof of identity on its own, and it is treated as one piece of information for the person reviewing the claim.
What “verified” does not mean
- It is not a judgement about competence, quality or fit.
- It is not a recommendation or an endorsement.
- It is not a statement that a registration is current today. Registrations change, and the regulator’s register is the authority.
- It does not cover fees, availability, areas of focus or anything else a professional says about their own practice.
Unclaimed listings
A listing that nobody has claimed is built from a public source. The title shown is the one the source used. SeeSomeone has not checked it against a register, and the profile does not say that it has.
Registration numbers
Where a profile shows a registration number, it is shown as information the professional provided, with a link to the official register where one is available so that anyone can check it. Where we have not checked something, we do not call it verified.
Concerns about a professional
A concern about a professional’s registration or conduct belongs with their provincial regulator, which is the body able to act on it. To tell us that a listing is inaccurate, see corrections.
