If you need help now

Crisis and emergency resources

SeeSomeone is a directory for finding a mental health professional. It is not a crisis service, and nobody here can respond to an emergency. These services can.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger

Call 911, or go to your nearest emergency department.

If you are thinking about suicide, or worried about someone who is

Call or text 9-8-8. The Suicide Crisis Helpline is available across Canada, at any hour, in English and French.

Other national lines

  • Kids Help Phone, for young people: call 1-800-668-6868, or text CONNECT to 686868.
  • Hope for Wellness Helpline, for Indigenous peoples across Canada: call 1-855-242-3310.

When it is not an emergency

If you are looking for ongoing support, you can search the directory for a professional near you or one who works online in your province. Many profiles do not yet show whether the professional is taking new clients, so it is worth contacting more than one.

Your family doctor, a walk-in clinic or your provincial health line can also help you find care. In most provinces and territories, the health line is 8-1-1.
